PLEASE BE CAREFUL; Lava Lite does heat up and should never be placed on anything that can burn or be left alone. Be sure to turn it off when you leave the room.
The inside walls are slightly discolored but not permanently. On Pinterest, there are instructions to clean and replace the liquid.
The base has a pinhole design that glows light through it.
