“Family-owned and operated, Caribou Clothes began as a very small enterprise, manufacturing sheep skin coats and accessories in Vancouver, B.C. in 1970. In 1974 we constructed a factory in Mountain View, Alberta, Canada, for making sheepskin and leather items. For several years we made coats and accessories for the wholesale market as well as for our own retail locations. Our coats were sold in various stores throughout western Canada and in the United States. We also exported them to Japan for several years. In 2002 we discontinued our coat, jacket and wholesale operations and have concentrated on manufacturing our line of slippers, mitts, and hats”
Due to the handmade nature of these traditional textiles, each one may contain imperfections, giving you a truly unique piece. They add to the overall character and history of the piece.
As shop owners, we do our best to provide an accurate description of all our items and any issues we notice. Since we only sell vintage and antiques, there is often wear and signs of aging on items.
